MetalCloak TJ/LJ Jeep Wrangler rear flare stock base plates are a mounting system for the MetalCloak rear flares; the plates provide additional strength to the sheet-metal and keep the rear wheel well opening the original size with no need for trimming.

The TJ/LJ stock cut rear flare base plates add additional strength by [click for more...] plating the weak sheet metal with 1/8" cold rolled steel and have the rear flare mounting hardware built right in.

The base plates are the foundation for the quick release rear flares (sold separately) allowing for your desired tire coverage or remove the flare all together for the maximum tire clearance available while out on the trail.

The rear base plates fit cleanly on the stock wheel opening while providing additional tire clearance. The base plates integrates with the MetalCloak rocker rails creating one solid unit of protection

Note: The base plates may be run alone, but are most often paired with our MetalCloak quick release rear flares that are available in 1½, 4", 6", or 8" widths.
