0:00 You have a Rubicon Edition Jeep Wrangler JK, you can improve the approach angle, the ground clearance of the front of your Jeep, by almost two inches using the MetalCloak Sway Bar Ground Clearance Kit, and making a few simple modifications to your Jeep.

0:15 The first step is to remove the stabilization bolt that connects the rubber retaining grommet to the sway bar housing. The stabilization bolt in this threaded hole will not be used again.

0:28 Now remove the housing bolt shown here. Mark this hole in the housing as it will be used to hold a new custom bolt later in the process.

0:40 The plastic debris guard located below the radiator will need to be modified in order to allow clearance for the sway bar's electronic connection plug. To modify, first draw guidelines on the debris guard to the right and left of the sway bar's electronic connection plug.

0:55 Use a Dremel or a die grinder to make cuts in the debris guard along the guidelines. Be very careful not to damage the radiator during this process.

1:07 Loosen or lower the sway bar. This will allow you to rotate the sway bar housing into its new orientation.

1:15 Disconnect the sway bar's electronic connection plug.

1:19 Rotate the sway bar housing upward as shown.

1:23 Reconnect the sway bar electronic connection plug only after the sway bar is in its new position.

1:30 Find the custom sway bar bolt and washer that came with your kit. Insert the custom bolt through the hole in the rubber retaining grommet.

1:38 Place the washer over the custom bolt threads and continue to thread the custom bolt into the sway bar housing hole marked for use earlier.

1:48 As you can see, before our modification, the sway bar's electronic connection plug, the lowest part of the sway bar assembly, is located five and a half inches below the top of the sway bar.

2:00 Now, after the modification, the sway bar's electronic connection plug resides above the sway bar.

2:06 The result is that the lowest part of the sway bar assembly is now three and three quarters inches below the top of the sway bar.

2:15 These simple modifications have added one and three quarter inches of ground clearance to the front of your JK.
