[00:00] This is officer Ron. Ron's retired from the Placerville Police Department, but continues to work as a resource officer for El Dorado High School. The police department recently acquired a brand new 2024 Jeep JL Wrangler, and he's brought it over to MetalCloak for an exciting collaboration.

[00:16] So, like with many departments, you know there's always that PR component. You know, the public relations, that community connection between the police department and the community. And this vehicle is just a visual representation of that and so it'll be the face of parades, it will go to the events, and you know we'll take it to the schools where the kids can crawl around on it. And you know, ooh and ah and all that stuff.

[00:44] The plan is for MetalCloak to upgrade this police jeep with suspension components, then hand it over to the students at El Dorado High to install the body armor.

[00:52] MetalCloak's gonna support you guys with the components. We're gonna do some of the more intricate items on this, but we're also gonna give you guys the items to take up to the high school where the kids are gonna be able to interact with the police department through the school and on this vehicle and put some of those parts on the Jeep.

[01:08] So, they'll have a physical connection to the vehicle as well. Imagine you know a Freshman, Sophomore in high school walking down the street with their parents, seeing a vehicle and say, "hey, mom I put that on there."

[01:20] That's really cool. That's a great outreach program. We're so excited to be a part of this program, and let's see what we can do. Yah, and the Placerville police department is so appreciative for your contributions. Let's pull it all into R and D, and let's get to work. Alright great.

[01:35] MetalCloak quickly got to work on the suspension install. We fully decked out this JL with our 3.5" Game-Changer Suspension System, which includes our True Dual-Rate Coils, Duroflex Control Arms, Durotrak Track Bar, and more. Before you know it, this Jeep is ready to tackle whatever off-road challenges it comes across.

[01:56] Now that the more technical work is taken care of, we drove over to El Dorado High to meet the students who would be getting some valuable experience working on the vehicle and collaborating with officer Ron and the police department.

[02:08] My name is Colin Denny. I'm the auto shop teacher here at El Dorado High School, and we're just trying to teach kids how to work on cars and get some mechanical skills and hopefully go out and use them in the world when they're done here.

[02:16] We wanna work within our community. Alright, we wanna find people that maybe need a car to get to work and maybe can't afford to do all the repairs of the car, or a student here that's struggling to get to school on time because of a car. So, that's one thing we are very passionate about.

[02:29] So, when Ron approached me about doing a project for our community, that's right in line with our values of what we wanna do here at the auto shop.

[02:34] The El Dorado High students did a great job installing the Frame-Built Bumper, the Overland Rocker Flip Steps, diff cover, muffler protection, and everything else the Jeep needed to be fully Cloak'd out.

[02:45] Was it a cool project to work on? Was it fun, different than normal school work kinda stuff? Yes, I I always look forward to this class, and it's always fun when Ron comes in and we get to work on it.

[02:54] The kids did most of the work. And how many kids would you say have been working on this Jeep? Probably three or four. You don't wanna have too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak right?

[03:03] But no, off and on, you know kids would stop by and help out and really observe a lot. Some of them are really avid Jeepers and stuff like that and really spend some time on the trail. So it was really cool for them just to see.

[03:13] That's incredible. I mean, we basically took a Jeep from bone stock to a fully built up rig that now can be out there helping the law enforcement out there.

[03:20] It's beautiful. Yeah, it's a pretty Jeep for sure.

[03:22] The only thing left was to wait on the finishing touches, namely the lighting and other items needed from the police department to make the Jeep meet their regulations. Once that was done, officer Ron came back to MetalCloak for a final visit.

[03:34] So Ron, the police Jeep, it's finished. It is done. It looks amazing. Yeah, it's been super fun to work on too.

[03:44] Well, I saw you pull in the parking lot. It's got the lights. It's got the sirens. It's got the computer inside. It's got so much cool stuff in there. It's mind boggling how good it turned out.

[03:56] Yeah, and I can't thank MetalCloak enough for being a partner on this project. It's been super fun.

[04:02] So, I do have a question for you. You've had a chance to drive it around for a while now. Right? Oh, yeah.

[04:07] How does it drive? You know, it's a lifted Jeep on thirty fives. I mean, is it something that's comfortable and safe to be driving on the road?

[04:13] Absolutely. It's super comfortable. I mean, the Jeep looks amazing, and we're so so thankful that you let us be a part of that.

[04:21] Oh, I'm very thankful for your participation. I really appreciate it.

[04:26] MetalCloak proudly and thankfully provides support to law enforcement and their efforts. And as a company, we are grateful for the opportunity to work within the community and with the instructors and students at El Dorado High School to create this amazing Jeep.

[04:41] MetalCloak, we are an American company that supports the community, participates in educational programs, supports law enforcement, and can help you make it your Jeep, only better.
