In this video, Scott Becker of MetalCloak meets a master diagnostic technician whose recently rebuilt JK suspension developed pops, cracks, and noise after fewer than 50 trail miles. After a CTI test at MetalCloak HQ identified binding and problem areas, the Jeep received a Lock-N-Load radius arm front end, a bolt-on long-arm 4-link rear, Duroflex joints on all arms, and Durotrak bushings on all track bars—resulting in a noise-free ride, noticeably improved flex, and a CTI score jump from 840 to nearly 960. The owner then road-tested the Jeep on the Rubicon’s Spider Lake and reported smooth, quiet, and reliable performance.

[00:00] Hey, Scott Becker here with MetalCloak.

[00:04] Recently I was introduced to a guy who is an automotive master diagnostic technician by trade that had just rebuilt his suspension joints for his JK. And with less than 50 trail miles, the suspension suffered from pops, cracks, clicks, bangs, and an all-around increase from noise coming from his newly rebuilt joints, causing him to be, well, let's say less than satisfied.

[00:20] Yeah, that's deep.

[00:22] So I arranged some time to have him come down to MetalCloak headquarters for an in-person look and give the Jeep a CTI test. Quickly, we were able to verify where the problems were coming from and a solution was proposed, agreed upon, and I sent him home with some gold standard MetalCloak products.

[00:40] A few weeks later, he came back and we had a chance to hear about the experience with his upgrades. So let's take a look.

[00:48] So we took the previous suspension off and we went with the Lock-N-Load radius arm front end. Right. With the, yeah, the Lock-N-Load joints. Really neat in the Duroflex joints like you had said. Right. We did a bolt-on long arm four link in the rear. With also the Duroflex joints. Also the Duroflex joints. And for giggles, we threw in both track bars.

[01:10] Ah, yeah. So those have the Durotrak bushings in them too. And they do. Right. So.

[01:20] Every noise has been eliminated. Last weekend we went and we ran it into the Rubicon. We did a little day trip into Spider Lake and it was quiet and stretchy and did everything I wanted it to do. And even with water on the trail. there was no problems with it hooking up and doing what it was supposed to.

[01:42] Awesome. Well, I don't know how well it felt. Did it feel like it flexed more than before?

[01:47] Oh yeah, noticeable difference. I mean, I don't have the measurements from before, but I was trying to pick tires off the ground and it wouldn't do it.

[01:55] Awesome. Well, I got a great idea. Let's take it in the back to the CTI and let's do the measurement on it and see how it really performed. I think it probably flexes a lot better.

[02:08] That sounds like a good idea. I'm excited to see it.

[02:12] I gotta say, even I was a little impressed with the extra amount of flex you got on your Jeep. What did you think?

[02:19] I couldn't be happier. I mean, it's smooth. It just, everything about it felt different. There was no noises. There was no jitters. From a 840, I think before? Yep, 840 to almost 960. Yeah.

[02:35] Wow. And that's just by changing the Duroflex joint and putting that Lock-N-Load and long arm rear system on there. And that's it. The shocks didn't move, the locations, the stroke, nothing else changed except for that suspension. So we just removed all the bind from the previous suspension that you had on there and huge, huge upgrade to your Jeep.

[02:55] Absolutely. I could not be happier to be part of this and then now have all that on my Jeep.
