METALCLOAK VIDEO: How To Install: MetalCloak JK Wrangler Solo Kat-Walk Adapter
This post walks through installing the MetalCloak Solo Kat-Walk Adapter on a JK Wrangler — a bolt-on bracket kit that gives you secure mounting points for the Kat-Walk platform without needing a full front hoop. It covers pre-install checks, removing a few factory bolts, placing supplied plastic washers, loosely fitting the adapter and platform, and final torque steps, plus a quick reminder to have an extra set of hands when aligning the catwalk to the adapter brackets.

[00:00] Hey, Scott Becker here with MetalCloak and today we're going to be installing our Solo Kat-Walk Adapter brackets for the JK Wrangler.
[00:06] These bolt-on brackets are designed to provide mounting locations for our catwalk platform without the need for a complete front hoop.
[00:12] Now before we do the installation, let's go to metalcloakinstructions.com, print out the instructions and read completely through them.
[00:18] Once we understand what we're getting into and we certainly have all the necessary tools, we can then start in on the installation.
[00:24] Now let's go down to the shop and get started.
[00:28] Our Jeep is already in a safe location and ready to be worked on, so we're gonna unbox the contents and verify that all the parts listed on the instructions page are accounted for before taking our Jeep apart.
[00:36] Okay, it looks like we're good to go.
[00:39] The Solo Kat-Walk Adapter brackets will be installed right here onto the Jeep.
[00:42] We'll start by using a T40 torx wrench.
[00:44] We'll remove the top two bolts located on the A-pillar.
[00:47] Using a T40 torx wrench, remove the two bolts located on the windshield.
[00:51] Place the provided plastic washers into the factory holes on the A pillar and windshield.
[00:55] Place the Solo Kat-Walk Adapter up to the A-pillar and loosely install the M8 bolts and washers.
[00:59] Tighten all hardware using a 5mm Allen wrench.
[01:03] We recommend a second person to help hold the catwalk to the adapter brackets.
[01:07] Align the Kat-Walk holes to the solo adapter.
[01:10] Loosely install the washers and bolts on each side of the Kat-Walk.
[01:13] Using a 7/32" Allen wrench, tighten all hardware.
[01:17] Now that we're done, all that's left to do is to go out and enjoy your Jeep.
