Every year, thousands of Jeepers — myself included — roll into Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for one of the biggest Jeep events in the country: the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion. Whether you’re a seasoned trail veteran or it’s your first big Jeep event, this gathering has something for everyone.
After attending, I put together everything you need to know before heading into the action yourself.
When Is the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion?
The Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion will be held this year on August 20-22, 2026.
The event runs Thursday through Saturday — three full days packed with Jeeps, vendors, and adventure.
For more information on the schedule visit the website here: https://gsmji.com/invasion-event/2026-jeep-invasion/
Where Is the Event Held?
The whole thing takes place at the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge:
One thing I learned quickly: plan to arrive early. Parking fills up fast, and traffic can back up around the venue — especially in the mornings. But once you’re inside, you’re right in the heart of Pigeon Forge, just minutes from places like Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Tickets and Registration
General Admission
-
Tickets are available at the gate only — no online sales.
-
It usually costs about $20 per person (cash preferred).
-
Kids under six get in free.
Jeep Parking
-
$20 per day if you want to park your Jeep inside the event area.
-
Non-Jeep vehicles? They have to park outside the designated Jeep zones.
Vendor Registration
If you’re a vendor thinking about setting up, get ready early — vendor spaces sell out months in advance. This event pulls in a serious crowd.
What to Expect at the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion
I went in expecting a big show — and even then, the scale blew me away.
Vendor Show
Over 200 vendors fill the indoor and outdoor areas, showing off everything from hardcore suspension parts to lifestyle gear.
Some highlights:
-
Big names like Metalcloak, Teraflex, Bestop, and dozens more.
-
Exclusive event discounts — it’s a great place to snag parts you’ve been eyeing.
-
Metalcloak’s CTI Suspension Testing Trailer was there every day, and it’s always a blast seeing just how much flex your rig really has.
Show and Shine Competition
If you’re into Jeep builds (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), you’ll love the Show and Shine:
-
Everything from classic Willys to wild, custom rock crawlers.
-
Categories for different build styles and generations.
-
Some of the creativity and craftsmanship on display was just mind-blowing.
Organized Trail Rides
Another cool thing? You can actually get your Jeep dirty:
-
Guided trail rides through the Great Smoky Mountains.
-
Trails for everything from stock Jeeps to fully built rigs.
-
Some rides require pre-registration, so keep that in mind if you want to hit the trails.
Where to Stay
Pigeon Forge gets packed during the event — so book early. I scoped out a few good options:
-
Margaritaville Island Hotel – Right in the center of town, high-end vibes.
-
Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort – Perfect if you’ve got the family with you.
-
The Inn at Christmas Place – Yep, it’s Christmas all year round there.
-
Campgrounds – If you want to stay a little more rugged, check out Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg KOA or Cove Creek RV Resort.
Wherever you stay, plan ahead — hotels and campgrounds both sell out fast.
Final Thoughts
After spending a few days immersed in everything Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion has to offer, I can honestly say it’s one of the best Jeep events in the U.S. The massive vendor expo, the jaw-dropping Jeeps, the trail rides through some of the most beautiful country in America — it’s everything a Jeeper could ask for.
Whether you’re looking to upgrade your rig, connect with the Jeep community, or just spend a few days exploring the Great Smoky Mountains, this event is absolutely worth the trip.
