Every year, thousands of Jeep lovers (myself included) converge on the Jersey Shore for one of the coolest weekends you can imagine — a full-on celebration of Jeeps, beach life, and community. The New Jersey Jeep Invasion isn't just a show; it’s an experience. And it all happens with the Atlantic Ocean and Wildwood’s iconic boardwalk as the backdrop.

Whether you’re new to the scene or you’ve been running trails for years, here’s everything I learned — and everything you’ll want to know — about one of the East Coast’s premier Jeep events.

When is the New Jersey Jeep Invasion?

The New Jersey Jeep Invasion will be held this year on July 11-13, which is Friday through Sunday.

What is the New Jersey Jeep Invasion?

When I first heard about the New Jersey Jeep Invasion, I knew I had to check it out. It's a Jeep-only event — and I mean only Jeeps — hosted right on the sands of Wildwood, NJ. Not some parking lot. Not some fairground. On the beach.

Here’s what makes it seriously special:

  • 100% Jeep Only – Every make, model, and generation is welcome, as long as it wears the Jeep badge.

  • Beach Parking – You literally park your Jeep in the sand, just steps from the ocean.

  • Vendor Village – Over 100 top aftermarket brands, off-road companies, and trail tech vendors show up.

  • Obstacle Course – A manmade beach course to flex your suspension and show off your skills.

  • Community Vibes – Jeep clubs, solo wheelers, families, and first-timers all come together. It’s one big Jeep family.

Where is the New Jersey Jeep Invasion Held?

Wildwood, New Jersey.

If you've never been, Wildwood is a classic East Coast beach town — and during Jeep Invasion weekend, it’s all about Jeeps.

Here’s what I loved about it:

  • The event kicks off at Rio Grande Avenue, right where the boardwalk begins.

  • Beach hotels, restaurants, and all the rides, arcades, and food stalls are right there.

  • You get a rare mix of laid-back beach energy and hardcore Jeep culture.

It’s the kind of place you could bring the family and still get your full Jeep fix.

When Did the New Jersey Jeep Invasion Start?

The NJ Jeep Invasion has been around for over a decade. It started small — just a handful of Jeep owners who wanted a meet-up — and it exploded into what it is today: one of the biggest Jeep-only gatherings on the East Coast.

  • Founded by Jeep Enthusiasts – It wasn’t some corporate thing. It was Jeepers making something for Jeepers.

  • Now, it's a full-on, professionally-run, multi-day event that draws Jeeps from all over the country.

The growth? Totally earned.

Who is the New Jersey Jeep Invasion For?

I saw every kind of Jeeper you can imagine — and every single one looked right at home.

Here’s who fits right in:

  • Daily Drivers – You don’t need a monster build. Stock Wranglers? Perfectly welcome.

  • Families – Wildwood’s boardwalk and beach make it an awesome family getaway.

  • Hardcore Off-Roaders – Between the obstacle course and the vendors, you’ll have plenty to geek out over.

  • Club Crews – Jeep clubs roll deep, setting up camps and flying their banners high.

Honestly, if you love Jeeps, you’ll fit right in.

What Can You Expect at the New Jersey Jeep Invasion?

The sand was packed with things to do, and everywhere you turned, there was something Jeep-related.

Here’s what stood out:

Vendor Village

  • Huge displays from suspension companies, tire brands, recovery gear makers, lighting companies, and more.

  • Event-only discounts, giveaways, and product demos everywhere.

Beach Obstacle Course

  • A custom-built course right on the sand: articulation hills, ruts, whoops, and steep climbs.

  • Great spot to test your setup or just have fun showing off.

Off-Road Education Seminars

Each day, Kyle from Off-Road Consulting ran hands-on classes, covering:

  • Tire Prep for sand driving

  • Solo Sand Recovery

  • Safe winching and off-road protocols

  • Proper use and placement of recovery points

Even if you’ve been wheeling a while, it was a good refresher.

Night Activities and Meetups

  • Friday Night: Jeepers Back the Blue Party at the Naval Air Station Wildwood Museum — a patriotic night supporting law enforcement.

  • Saturday Night: Oracle Lighting Party — Jeeps, lights, music, and a beach party vibe under the stars.

Wildwood felt like one big Jeep town all weekend.

Is There Off-Roading at the New Jersey Jeep Invasion?

Yep — but it’s a little different.

  • Obstacle Course Only – No big trail rides like you’d find out west or up in Rausch Creek. The custom beach course is where you’ll flex.

  • Nearby Parks – A lot of folks (me included) plan side trips to places like Wharton State Forest or Rausch Creek Off-Road Park to round out the trip.

What Should You Bring?

After surviving — and thriving — at the event, here’s my must-bring checklist:

  • Your Jeep – Duh.

  • Tire Deflator and Compressor – You’ll be airing down to drive on the sand.

  • Beach Gear – Chairs, sunshade, sunscreen, lots of water. It gets hot!

  • Recovery Gear – Especially if you’re hitting the obstacle course.

  • Jeep Flags / Club Banners – Show off your pride.

  • Camera or Drone – Trust me: the views are unreal.

How Can I Learn More or Stay Updated?

Before and during the event, I kept tabs through these:

They update regularly, especially close to the event.

Is the New Jersey Jeep Invasion Worth It?

Absolutely — without a doubt.

Here’s why:

  • You literally park your Jeep on the beach.

  • Massive Jeep-only crowd with a chill, welcoming vibe.

  • Aftermarket vendors everywhere — and serious discounts.

  • Real off-road education you won’t find at other shows.

  • Full immersion into East Coast Jeep culture.

Whether you’re local, from the Mid-Atlantic, or traveling from across the country, the New Jersey Jeep Invasion is one of those bucket-list events every Jeeper should experience at least once.
