What is needed to upgrade from a 2.5"/3.5" lift, to a 4.5" or taller lift on a JK/JL/JT?
Taller coils, an aftermarket driveshaft, and a hi-steer kit will be needed to upgrade to a taller lift height.
I have already installed on my JKU a True Dual Rate 2.5" kit. Can it get upgraded the components to achieve the Game-Changer 2.5” setup? Could you advise the order for the upgrade?
We offer a 'Dual Rate to Game Changer' upgrade kit for the JK Wrangler to make it easy. The kit includes the remaining control arms, rear adjustable track bar, and brake lines.
Does these DuroSpring Bump Stops fit a 2" lift kit?
Yes, our DuroSpring Bump Stops will work down to a stock height Jeep, but are about 2” taller than stock and compress to ¾” under impact.
Does the long arm kit for the TJ/LJ Wrangler fit with the factory exhaust?
No, in order to clear the upper rear arms an exhaust will need to be custom built to your Jeep.
Why won't the DB3 Bracket work on a 392?
The DB3 Bracket will not work on a 392 because the rear arm brackets are mounted lower on the frame, in order to address geometry issues from the factory.
Do I need to replace the driveline when lifting my TJ/LJ Wrangler?
Yes, we recommend doing a CV driveline with all our TJ/LJ kits to eliminate driveline vibration. Non-Rubicon models will require a SYE to install a CV driveline.
Are the 6Pak shocks adjustable for a stiffer ride for heaver loads? I'm not a rock crawler, I'm the camping type and I don't want my rear to sag when loaded with gear.
No, the 6Pak shocks are not adjustable. Our RockSport Black Adjustable Reservoir Shocks would be a better fit for your use. However shocks do not affect sag as it is the spring that supports weight.
I have a WJ. Will these Baller Joints fit?
The WJ uses the same ball joint as the JK. Product ID 1910 will work for you.
Do you just sell the tie rod end instead of having them serviced?
We do offer the ends. Give us a call and we would be glad to help you.
51 inch tie rod length? Is that without the ends?
That measurement is a reference to the center of the ends where they attach to the knuckles.
SKID PLATE FAQs
I have a 2023 Wrangler Sahara with a M220 axle with LDS. Will this M220 Rear Differential Skid Plate fit my differential?
Yes, this will fit your Jeep equipped with the M220 axle.
I have a 2023 Wrangler Sahara with a stock M186 axle with disconnect. Do you make a skid plate that fits my differential?
Unfortunately no. We currently do not offer a skid plate for the M186 axle.
Do you sell replacement bolts for this UnderCloak Integrated Armor System? I have a 2011 JK 4-door.
We do offer a replacement service kit (Product ID 3369). If you need full hardware please give us a call.
Do your Shock Mount Skid Plates for 6G Broncos fit the Raptors? You should specify in your description.
Our skids do not fit the Raptor model unless specifically listed.
Will this UnderCloak Armor System work with MetalCloak bolt-on long arm kit?
Yes, our UnderCloak skid systems are designed to work with our long arm kits without added modification.
2024 Wrangler Sport JL with M220 rear axle w/o limited slip.....will this Rear Differential Skid Plate fit my ride?
If your build sheet shows the M220 it will fit. This is normally in Sports with limited slip option or manual transmission.
Does the factory fuel tank skid plate get covered or replaced with the UnderCloak Integrated Armor System?
Yes, it will cover the stock fuel tank skid.
Do you or can you sell just the crossmember for the jku. If so what's the cost?
Yes, we can sell it separately. Please call for pricing.
How much does this skid system (UnderCloak Integrated Armor System, 4-Door) weigh for the 21 JLU e-torque?
The shipping weight of the skid system is 196 lbs.
Is the engine skid available separately?
The skid will not work independently. We can offer it as a replacement if you are moving it to a different Jeep.
BUMPER FAQs
What size winch are MetalCloak bumpers designed for?
They are designed for a mid-frame winch with a rating up to 12K lbs.
Are MetalCloak bumpers designed for flat towing?
No, we do not recommend flat towing with our bumpers. Instead, utilize a tow bar (ex. Blue Ox) for safe transport of the vehicle.
What should I do about any chips/damage to the powder coating?
Using Rust Oleum textured black spray paint works nicely. Use a Q-tip for small sections.
Will this SlimCrawler Rear Bumper (Product ID 2804) bumper work on 2006 TJ with a U-Haul hitch already installed?
No, this bumper is not designed to work with a hitch.
What is the weight of your JL Wrangler Crawler "Narrow Width" Rear Bumper, BPC and your JL Wrangler Crawler "Full Width" Rear Bumper, BPC?
The "Narrow Width" rear bumper is 80 lbs and the "Full Width" is 90 lbs.
What is the weight of the Frame-Built Bumper Base, JL Wrangler with 56" end caps and winch guard (#2401)? And with 49" end caps and winch guard (#2501)?
Both of these bumpers are 100 lbs including the skid plates.
What is the weight of this bumper with the 49" pods?
P.S. I have this bumper and absolutely love it, just trying to calculate my new payload
This setup is approximately 70lbs.
What size are the Grade 8 fasteners holding the wings on to this Lo Profile Modular Rear Bumper?
We use ½” hardware for that.
Does this Winch Guard fit stock TJ bumpers?
No, this is specific to our bumpers.
Will an Apex Bandland winch fit this Frame-Built Bumper without modifications?
Yes, it will fit well without issue.
BODY ARMOR FAQs
What is the benefit of having mod cut vs. stock cut rear flare mounts on the TJ/LJ model?
The stock cut retains the factory wheel opening while the Mod Cut allows for the wheel well to be trimmed to allow for a larger wheel opening.
Do your fenders for the TJ/LJ/YJ/CJ help to lower the temperature under the hood?
Yes, the aluminum replacement inner fender wells, that come with all MetalCloak fender sets, allow for better heat transfer. For TJ/LJ models, our fenders come with vented access panels that allow air to easily exit, pushing air across the motor.
Do these Aluminum Rocker Exoskins (Product ID 6324) work on 2024 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with stock fenders and stock rock sliders?
Yes, it will work well. However, Product ID 6330 would be recommended because it is the full-length version for the Gladiator.
Do you have a "no drill" version of the Aluminum Rocker ExoSkin for the 2-door?
No, unfortunately we have not done one at this point.
Can I purchase the hardware kit separately? My wife purchased the Fender Gutz Delete & Clearance Bracket for me last year, but without the hardware kit.
Yes, we do offer hardware kits. Please give us a call to order them.
How much does this Full Duty Rear Bumper weigh?
The bumper is about 75 lbs.
What should I do about any chips/damage to the powder coating?

Will this Replacement Inner Fender Set fit the 2021 JT Rubicon model?
Yes, the Replacement Inner Fender Set will fit any 2019-Current JT model, as well as any 2018-Current JL model.
Can I use MetalCloak JL/JT inner fenders with my factory fenders?
Yes, but it will require some modification to the factory fenders for a successful fitment.
Can I use the Overline Flares with my factory fenders (JK/TJ/YJ)?
No, our Overline Flares require the use of our Overline Fenders for mounting.
RACK SYSTEM FAQs
How many hinge steps are included?
The kit includes two steps.
Will these Rocklander Hinge Steps also work on the rear doors of a JL wrangler?
Yes, they work well on the front and rear doors.
Is this Elevated Interior Storage Rack System for hardtops only?
No, it will work with a soft top as well.
How far out do the clamp stand offs extend from the roof rack?
The bracket extends out 8.25” from the center of the tube.
I have an iKamper Mini 3, can it be installed on this?
Yes, we run that on one of our Gladiators and it works great.
How much does the Rocklander rack system weigh with the front and rear hoops and the 2 bars for a 2-door JL? Mainly interested so I know which MetalCloak coil springs to order.
The rack total shipping weight is 145 lbs. We normally run a 1” taller rear coil to address the added rear load of an overland setup.
Will the Rocklander Wind Deflector cut wind noise from an empty rack?
Yes, it is designed to address air flow issues and lower noise.
From the pics I don't see why this Solo Kat Walk Kit will not work on a Mojave, would a small spacers work?
No, it will not fit because it won't clear the raised cowl of the Mojave and 392.
Does this Rocklander Cross Beam Awning Mount comes with 2 brackets? For it's a pair?
No, this is a single arm. Choose the number of arms you need based on the heaviness of the awning. A typical side awning like an ARB can use two Awning Mounts... but a heavier system like a 270 would require three mounts.
Does this OverCab Stealth Rack System interfere with the removal of the freedom top panels?
No, it is tight and the panels are covered but they can be removed.
MISC FAQs
What other products are recommended to install with my new lift kit?
Other important upgrades include steering systems and skid plates.
Does this SportGate Mount make it easy to lock and secure the jack?
Yes, the mount secures the jack in two locations, with required tools. An additional cable lock could also be added if necessary.
Do these replacement brake lines work with 87-90 MJ’s and XJ’s, and each line is 24 inch?
Yes, the XJ’s use the same brake lines from '84-'01, and the lines are 24” each.
How often do I need to lube zerk fittings?
They should have 1-2 pumps added each oil change or if subjected to contamination.
What grease should I use?
Our Duroflex and Durotrak bushings use Superlube. For Steering and Baller Joints we recommend a high pressure moly NLGI2. Drive shafts will use NLGI2 Litihum or Moly grease.
Do you ship internationally? And does this HD Steering System fit a rhd?
Yes, we do offer International shipping. However, this steering system is not right hand drive compatible.
Could this Stainless Steel Dead Pedal be adapted to a Jeep TJ? Seems to me the side attachment could be set to the TJ tub wall.
No, it would not adapt well to a TJ tub.
I have the plastic MetalCloak tail lights already. Could I just buy the billet housings?
Yes, we can do that. Give us a call.
Do you sell a full size "m" decal that would fit the size of a 2 door jeep door panel? Would like one for each door. I would modify it with tire tracks through it. If you plan on having such sticker made I would love to display it on my 2003 TJ
While we do not offer the decal is other sizes, you can have one made using the file under digital downloads on the site.
What size hole do these LED Marker & Blinker Lights fit in?
They fit a ¾” hole.
